Amber Banks serves as Carolina Small Business Development Fund’s Vice President of Business Lending. She manages the underwriting and loan servicing processes. She also assists with portfolio management, risk analysis, and loan servicing. We talked to Amber and this is what she had to say about working at Carolina Small Business and her inspirations!
CSBDF: What’s your alma mater?
Amber: North Carolina Central University.
CSBDF: Where is your hometown?
Amber: Fort Washington, Maryland.
CSBDF: What do you like most about working at Carolina Small Business?
Amber: There are several things I like but my absolute favorite is visiting a borrower’s business after they’re open to shop. I love to shop where we lend!
CSBDF: If you could interview one person (dead or alive) who would it be?
Amber: Big Foot. I’d like to know how he’s avoided social media for all this time.
CSBDF: What is your favorite meal/food?
Amber: This is a recent discovery – caramel bourbon cheesecake. Coincidentally, this is a menu item at one of our borrower’s restaurants – Prime Smokehouse.
CSBDF: Who or what inspires you to do the work that you do?
Amber: My daughter inspires me because I want her to have tangible examples of women and minorities in business.
