This month we are spotlighting Caitlin Davis, the recently appointed Director of the Eastern Women’s Business Center at Elizabeth City State University. Get to know Caitlin below!
CSBDF: What’s your alma mater?
Caitlin: I got my Bachelor’s in Business Administration at Elizabeth City State University in 2012 and just completed my MBA at East Carolina University in May 2017.
CSBDF: Where is your hometown?
Caitlin: I am from Camden, NC, which no one has ever heard of, but it is 45 minutes from Virginia and the Outer Banks, and I have lived in Camden since I was four years old.
CSBDF: What do you like most about Carolina Small Business?
Caitlin: I love that Carolina Small Business allows people the opportunity and resources to pursue their dreams.
CSBDF: What is your role at Carolina Small Business?
Caitlin: Director of the Eastern Women’s Business Center.
CSBDF: If you could interview one person (dead or alive) who would it be?
Caitlin: I would interview Sheryl Sandberg, she is an extremely successful woman and has chosen to share her story to help empower other women. I read her book as extra credit for one of my graduate classes, and it has been instrumental in shaping who I am today. It opened my eyes to opportunities that I did not think were possible for me.
CSBDF: What is your favorite meal/food?
Caitlin: Frozen peaches! This may sound bizarre, but I would eat them all day, every day. My grandma used to freeze them to save in the off-season months, and I found them one day and had a bowl, and ever since then they have been my go-to!
CSBDF: Who or what inspires you to do the work that you do?
Caitlin: My family is my biggest cheer group and support system. I love our family time and we are always there for each other. They drive me to be my best possible self.
