This month we’re spotlighting our board member, Dr. Paulette Dillard, Interim President and Shaw University.

Dr. Dillard: Barber-Scotia College/BS; Tennessee State/MS; Clark Atlanta/ Ph.D.
CSBDF: Where is your hometown?
Dr. Dillard: Mt. Airy, North Carolina.
CSBDF: What inspired you to become a Board member of CSBDF?
Dr. Dillard: I became a Board Member because of the involvement of CSBDF with Entrepreneurship Initiatives that intersected with programs and strategies that Shaw University was also engaged in undertaking with Alumni, Southeast Raleigh Community, and students.
CSBDF: What is your proudest moment at CSBDF?
Dr. Dillard: The ribbon cutting for the grand opening of the Innovation & Entrepreneurship Center.
CSBDF: What is your personal philosophy?
Dr. Dillard: Work hard, dream big and do all things with integrity.
CSBDF: How do you define success?
Dr. Dillard: I define success as working at what I love to do, making a difference in the lives of people, and being the best possible steward of the environment.
CSBDF: What is the inspiration behind your work?
Dr. Dillard: There have been a number of individuals that have inspired me throughout my life and I have a commitment to pay it forward. I work hard to encourage others to be open to possibilities.
CSBDF: What is the best book you have ever read?
Dr. Dillard: The best book that I have ever read is Great Expectations and Bird by Bird.
CSBDF: What is your favorite movie?
Dr. Dillard: Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.
